My daughter seeks out this brand of notebook. The cover is reasonably thick plastic with just a single layer, which she likes better than the cardboard covers enclosed in thin plastic. Those separate into three layers at the corners, well before the school year ends. The binder is flexible rather than the stiff, rigid cardboard I am used to, but this is what she wants. The 1-inch ring size is rather small, but she uses one binder per class, so anything thicker would be too bulky. She also likes that the rings are mounted in the spine of the notebook, unlike the D-ring type that mounts the rings in the back cover. These details are important to some users, and the item description never describes them well enough. Just what she wanted!
