I tried unsuccessfully to get some idea of how much it actually folded before ordering. Decided to give it a try anyway. Turns out the only folding part is the stand at the bottom where the wheels are.
If you're looking for a cart to keep in your car for unloading and transporting purchases to the house, or to use for short walks to/from a nearby store,this would be great. If you're on foot and looking for a cart you can easily take with you on the bus, or plan to shop in several locations - then this is a bit too cumbersome to comfortably haul around.

Anyway, I took it today for it's "maiden voyage" and was so pleasantly surprised. First off, while I think, as others mentioned, the wheels are a sort of plastic/ rubber composite, but turned out to be very sturdy and I can see them lasting. Now, I was a bit concerned that I wouldn't be able to carry a large load of grocery's home, however, as I bought a bit more than I had planned (weight wise), once through the checkout line and after loading my cart bag to the top, I was very surprised at the amount it held, and that not even a slight sagging on the axle. I had read on reviews of other carts, that seemed to be the big complaint, so I was very watchful on this one. Happy to report, it held up wonderfully and while I wouldn't want to push it futher simply to test it, I estimate I had aprox 40-50 lbs in mine today.
